Dear · Life...

you and i have been quite the duo these past 3-4 months. i know that sometimes i stood you up, but i'm trying to be more consistent. in fact, one of my new year's resolutions is to not miss a single class next semester. as i sit here "studying" for my last final on monday, i found myself thinking of several letters that i could send out into the universe. this is probably a mean of distraction and procrastination. anyways, these letters look something like this:

dear professor wallsten,
what are you doing teaching? you're too young and too funny..you should be a comedian or an actor. screw "enlightening and encouraging the future," just make us laugh.

thanks for being so supportive and encouraging. also, i'm super jealous of your previous experiences (working for cosmopolitan and vanity fair!!) if i was to ever become a teacher and send out mass emails to my students, i think i would end it with something like you do: "stay positive and confident, class!"

dear professor burnett,
why are you so goddamn popular? i'm not taking media law next semester simply because your classes were full and i refuse to take it with anybody else. if it's anything like media ethics, it'll be worth the wait.

dear residents/my neighbors/friends in los cerritos hall,
we are fabulous and i love every one of you. seriously, you guys and dolls make my experience here all that it is. pretty much, cerritos hall is the place to be. all the other halls/buildings are jealous of us and we know it.

thanks for letting me and my crew get away with pretty much everything. you know you love us and that's why you never write us up for anything. and sorry about the bottles that fell from our hiding place while you were giving a tour; we've found a new place for them. next time, y'all are more then welcome to join us again :)

heather, melissa and i have noticed you from day 1, so no need to turn away and blush everytime we catch you staring. you're more than welcome to sit with us too..it's sad to see you eat all by yourself every lunch hour. but don't get the wrong idea.

well, first semester, that's all. actually, there's plenty more but i really should get back to studying. i just wanted to give you a little shout out so you would feel the love. see you in january, but it'll be for second semester.
